MEET THE CHAMPIONS
The Champions of Change are an extraordinary group of ViaPath employees and advisors working to create positive change for individuals and communities impacted by incarceration.

Jessie D. Mabrey
Jessie D. Mabrey is dedicated to supporting women and children who have experienced trauma.
For more than 15 years, she’s helped justice-impacted women by advocating for attainable and affordable housing, contributing to the creation of programming for justice-impacted men and women, and implementing/facilitating programs.
Jessie is a Certified Peer Specialist, a Certified Forensic Peer Mentor Mental Health and a Certified Stephen Minister. She’s a member of the National Alliance on Mental Health (NAMI), a DTR Facilitator for Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network (GMHCN), a Program Development Manager for National Incarceration Association (NIA) and a volunteer for the Family Unification Network.
Antonio Sadler
Antonio Sadler joined ViaPath Technologies in 2021 after serving ten years in a South Carolina penitentiary. While incarcerated, he used a ViaPath Inspire tablet to access educational and job training tools and stay connected with his family. He credits those resources with keeping him focused on his future.
Antonio now uses his talents and background to inform the direction of ViaPath’s products and services. He draws from his prison experience to create and evaluate programs, products and services that facilitate personal and professional growth.
In addition to being an Associate Product Manager, Antonio is Treasurer of the ViaPath Foundation Board.

Haden Moyer
Haden Moyer is deeply grateful for the second chance employment has given him. Throughout his years of incarceration, his greatest source of strength was his family—despite being far from home without access to technology like tablets, which made visits and communication difficult.
After his release in 2017, Haden was determined to steer his life in a positive direction. When he learned about ViaPath’s mission, he knew instantly he wanted to support it. And today, he works to keep incarcerated individuals connected with their loved ones.
Shirley Moore Smeal
Shirley Moore Smeal has more than 35 years of experience in the corrections field.
She is the Board Chair of the ViaPath Foundation, a Senior Consultant for ViaPath Technologies and President and CEO of Moore Smeal and Associates, a corrections-solutions consulting firm. She previously served as the first female Executive Deputy Secretary/Chief Operating Officer for the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections.
As a Champion of Change, Shirley was influential in implementing a leadership training program designed to recognize and reward diversity, provide opportunities for growth and development, and facilitate networking.
She is a member of many professional organizations and a past president of the Association of Women Executives in Corrections (AWEC).

Tammy Ferguson
Tammy Ferguson has 28 years of experience in corrections.
She began her career as a Corrections Officer Trainee, is a retired Executive Deputy Secretary for Institutional Operations at the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections and is currently a consultant with ViaPath Technologies.
As a Champion for Change, Tammy played a key role in implementing agency reforms—particularly those designed to enhance veterans’ services for both staff and incarcerated individuals.
A veteran of the U.S. Air Force and Pennsylvania Air National Guard, Tammy is committed to increasing awareness of veteran benefits for justice-involved individuals and strengthening the support systems necessary for successful reentry.
She serves on the Pennsylvania Governor’s Advisory Council on Veterans Services and is a Board Member of the Association of Women Executives in Corrections (AWEC).
Christopher (CJ) Johnson
Christoper Johnson joined ViaPath Technologies in February 2025 and quickly became an integral part of the team. Though he was never incarcerated, he understands its lasting impact having grown up with an incarcerated parent. This experience shaped his perspective and fueled his determination to break the cycle.
CJ firmly believes in second chances and is passionate about ensuring those affected by the justice system have access to the education, support and opportunities they need to rebuild. When he learned about ViaPath’s mission, he knew he had found his place.
For CJ, this work is deeply personal—an opportunity to give back to the community that shaped him and drive the change he wishes to see in the world.
